Where to stay

Pontevedra offers a range of stays, from traditional stone-walled guesthouses in the medieval quarter to modern boutique hotels overlooking the harbor. Expect to find comfortable options starting at 70€ per night for central guesthouses, while upscale boutique hotels near the historic center typically range between 120€ and 180€ per night. During the August race weekend, securing bookings in the city center is advisable to stay within walking distance of the riverfront start line.

Things to do nearby

The weekend centers on the Rías Bajas, where you can explore the coastline via sea kayak or SUP to better understand the tidal dynamics you encountered while swimming. Local culture is deeply rooted in gastronomy, particularly wine tastings of the regional Albariño, and visits to the nearby granite-built villages. History enthusiasts can spend time trekking the paths used by medieval pilgrims or visiting the archeological sites scattered along the southern banks of the river estuary.
